Wanted: Subhumans Review!!

The following review was taken from the first issue of the up and coming zine "Lack of Ska nkability."

What other club can you go to and see ska and punk favorites such as the Slackers,Mephiskapheles, Save Ferris, The Queers, Super Deluxe (they're pop -Keith), Cherry Poppin' Daddies, the Suicide Machines, Hepcat, Spring Heeled Jack, Homegrown, The Pietasters,Skavoovie, Lagwagon, MU330, The Skalars, The Blue Meanies, Skankin' Pickle, Let's GoBowling, Dropkick Murphy's, NOFX, and many more .  Many bands have played (at) RKCNDY,where there is a low balcony, as well as the main floor, and a lobby area where themerchandise tables are set up, food and drinks are sold, and people can relax to talk with their friends in a restauraunt style booth, or play a good video game or two. In the club where the walls often sweat more than some of the people they hold, and the boys bathroom is rumored to need a good cleaning and fresh stock of toilet paper (the first part is true, but we do have toilet paper -Keith) the shows often fill the club to capacity making RKCNDY one of the most popular all-ages venues.  Come experience this for yourself, tickets can usually be purchased at the door.  Doors open at 7pm and shows start at 8pm. Shows usually end at 11:00 or 11:30pm which is usually time enough to catch all the bands playing and get home at a reasonable hour.

Less Than Jake : Setember 25th, '98

I went to the Less Than Jake concert on Friday September 25th, 1998. It was at the RKCNDY. There was two opening bands, one I can't remember the name of, and the other one was 22 Jacks. Finally, when Less Than Jake came on, it was crazy. I was down in the mosh pit with a couple of my friends.  Everyone was dripping with sweat! They allowed people to get on the stage and jump off into the pit, and all that stuff. It was HELLA fun. It was CROWDED. When we were in line, we got to the doors, and they counted off 15 people - everyone else behind that 15 people mark had to leave, 'cuz the
place was packed! It was HOT. Everyone was jumping around and having a great time. I am definitely gonna go back to the RKCNDY A.S.A.P.!!!!   -

Reel Big Fish : November 21st, '98

Even at the ripe old age of 45, I had the best time at the Reel Big Fish concert on the 21st!  Such enthusiasm, loce for music and a rockin' crowd.  My daughter and her friends (ranging from 5th to 8th graders) enjoyed every minuter too -- even the minutes they ended up on the floor ( bruises and headaches seem to be a plus)!  There aren't a whole lot of options for "safe" activities for young teens but RKCNDY provides entertainment at its best for all ages  The variety of music you sponsor is what gives you your good name and reputation.  Thanks for a great time and fantastic music!  We plan on coming back for Royal Crown Revue in December.  - By Vicki Molleston
