Rocket From The Crypt - August 5th
Rocket From the Crypt label themselves as something
classic, in the sense of the Cadillac, Levi's jeans, and the zippo. They distinguish
themselves from any other band in 3 ways, 1. They don't sound like anyone else; 2. They
don't look like any other band (They always present themselves in matching shirts of
highly inflammable material; and 3. Their audience must have the logo tattooed on them
SOMEWHERE. |

Use For A Name - August 15th In case
you're not yet familiar with them, they are a four piece popcore punk band out of
Sunnyvale, California. Matt, their new bassist, was once in Face 2 Face, They currently
have probably played more concerts in the past year than any other band out there. They've
been here three time in the past year. Wonder how many frequent flyer miles they have? |
 |
Limp
(with NUFAN) They come straight out of the
East Bay for your listening pleasure. They have only been a band for a little while, but
they have already been to Seattle this year (with Suicide Machines) They're mix of power
cords with a chorus "OH's" is remarkably notable, and in my opinion their
trademark. |

88
Fingers Louie (with NUFAN and Limp) These
guys are the premiere punk outfit coming out of Chicago. They've been all over the world,
and found it convenient to stop in Seattle. (We simply weren't worthy of their presence),
otherwise, we don't know why they were here. |
 |
Hatebreed - August 20th
Straight from New Haven, CT come Hatebreed,
one of the most sought after hardcore bands in the U.S. They've been around since 1994,
and have been causing riots and disturbances ever since. |
 |
Will Haven - (with Hatebreed)
Emotions, aggression, these words have
immense meaning to members of Will Haven. Their music isn't just pure hardcore or metal,
they've combined influences such as Neurosis, Deadguy, and Sepultura; and have come up
with their own sound. Ever since the memorable summer of '95 they have been touring up and
down the coast of California as well as their tour recently with the Deftones that brought
them here last. |

Vandals
- August 22nd It's that time of year when
everything seems to be going fine, and the Vandals have to come play a show and mess up
this beautiful harmony, This time the Vandals are coming in support of their new album
cleverly titled HITLER BAD, VANDALS GOOD. The Vandals are the meaning of the word punk to
L.A., so don't mess with them or they might break out the fact that during an episode of
X-Files, they had a song played, and a lead character sport their shirt |
 |
Apocalypse
Hoboken - (with Vandals)
These guys have been shaking up the streets of Chicago for the past eight years doing what
they do best; playing melodic sprinkled punk. They're on tour with the Vandals to support
their newest album entitled, House Of The Rising Son Of A Bitch. After hearing this small
smidgen of truth you might actually begin to understand why we book bands the way we do. |

Knife - Saturday August 29th No
Knife has definitely had their share of fun, exciting tours. In 1996 their guitarist Ryan
spent his 21st b-day in a van between Arizona and Kansas, their drummer Ike Puked and
rolled unconscious down a hill in Ohio, and that's just two of their stories... I have no
clue what type of tunes they play, but they're on Time Bomb recordings who also has Social
D. |
 |
Fluf
- (with No Knife) Fluf has been around
since '92. That means they survived through the fall of grunge, the rise of and fall of
mainstream punk, and are still surviving in the Puff Daddy era. That's pretty respectable.
They haven't had a top 40 tit yet, but that will come in time (yeah right) They play pop
punk at its' best with a hard edge. |
 |
Jimmy
Eat World - (with No Knife and Fluf) They
first formed when a couple of friends got together and covered Metallica tunes in the
seventh grade. Now they bring their DIY ethics to Seattle for everyone to look into.
Hopefully you will come check these guys out! |
 |
AFI-
Monday August 31st They are an East-Bay
rooted four piece that has terrorized the underground since 1991. They've been releasing
pure hard-core three chord based punk since the day they formed and haven't looked back.
Their Newest release, Shut Your Mouth and Open Your Eyes has a lot of
promise and is the best album from them yet, or so they say. |
 |
Good
Riddance - (with AFI) They came
through in support of their newest album Ballads From the Revolution
which is a very appropriate title for this band full of vegans and veggies. Their only
crime committed against the state is that they don't eat meat, other than that, they are
one hell of a band. Formed in '86, in Northern Cal, these guys have a point to get
accross, beware, they might just preach to you. |
