Aquabats
- September 11th They are a
dynamic team of skilled geeks who hail from mighty Huntington Beach, California. Their
newest release The Fury Of
the Aquabats explains just how loony these guys can be. The truth is that these guys
aren't really furious, some say their music is ska, and
some say their music is Devo meets the Power Rangers, but whatever it is these guys put on
an excellent show so you should come check it out. |

H2O
- September 17th
H2O is touring today because of frontman Toby Morse's desire to give something back to
music. Formerly a roadie for New York's Sick Of It All, Toby first came upon a chance to
perform at one of their shows (Sick Of It All's). Toby then enlisted his childhood friend
Rusty Pistachio on guitar, bassist Eric Rice, and drummer Max Capshaw. H2O played their
first show in December 1994. Well, enough of that. These guys are good enough for New York
(obviously!) where they reside. You'd have to give me a damn good reason to not attend
this show... It'll be one of the
best hardcore performances in a long time, guaranteed.

Man Or
Astro Man - September 21st Man...or Astro-man is coming back to the breakroom for the second
time in three months. The last tour proved that these guys could be as weird as
anyone on the market and still kick ass... They hauled through 28 cities last time
in a primarily West Coast oriented tour and are looking to expand this time through. |

Peter
and the Test Tube Babies - September 21st They were formed by four 16 year old school friends in Brighton,
England back in 1978. They came upon the name because back in '78 the first test tube baby
was created in a lab not far from here. They
quickly were swallowed up by No Future Records, the label who also released stuff by
Blitz, and released their first LP "Pissed and Proud." In short these guys were
some real innovators. Their hobbies include the traditional punk rock shit: gettin' pissed
at the local pub, workin' hard, and did I mention they like drinkin'? |
 |
Bloodclots
(with Peter and the Test Tube Babies) You don't get much more punk rock than these lads. They hail from
Seattle and sound like they just got off the plane from London and finally arrivined after
being subjected to having their luggage searched by
German shepherds and gettin' more than enough shit for the bottles of scotch found among
their clothes. They're pissed, and they're not afraid to let you know it. They are punk
rock of the liberty spike totin', english-influenced, more metal on their coats than on
your car brand. |
 |
The
Forgotten (with Bloodclots & Peter and the Test Tube Babies) They're from San fuckin' Jose, therefore they are
more punk rock than you will ever be. They draw influence from English punk bands of the
early 80's such as GBH, Blitz, and the Partisans. They've shared the stage with legendary
bands like the Business and the Anti-Nowhere League. as well as my boys in Dropkick
Murphys. They've already toured with Peter and the Test Tube Babies in England so they
have their shit together. You'd be a fool to miss this show! |

Built
To Spill, Modest Mouse - September 23rd The New York Times believes these guys make music
which can rival Hendrix or Clapton. They're right. Built To Spill found its beginnings in
somewhat the same fashion as the previous mentioned artists. All three came from smaller
towns (Seattle wasn't too big back in the late fifties,
early sixties) although Built To Spill beats them all, coming from Twin Falls, ID. They
found their beginnings in high school, although that's not the case for the WHOLE band
(Doug and Brett were the only ones playing together at this time). In 1993 they released
their first album entitled Ultimate Alternative Wavers. 1997 found their latest release,
Perfect From Now On, getting rave reviews with a highlight of recieving an "8"
from Spin magazine.

Subhumans
U.K. - September 26th They are one of the only bands still surviving from the mid-80's
anarco-punk scene that was so prominent in England. Angered intelligent lyrics and music
that was far more diverse than most punk,
the Subhumans have attitude and an incredible DIY base. |
